What is RefAssure?
RefAssure is a UK employment reference checking service. You add a candidate and their referees, and RefAssure collects consent, chases each referee by email and text, flags bounced emails and files a signed PDF with a full audit trail. It costs from 80p a reference with no monthly fee, and your first reference is free.
Why we built it
Collecting references is one of the most important checks in hiring, and one of the most tedious. Referees mean to reply, then forget. Someone in the office ends up sending reminder after reminder, typing up phone calls and hunting through inboxes when an inspector or client asks for the file.
The tools that existed tended to be built around monthly subscriptions and per-seat pricing. That works for large enterprises, but not for a care provider hiring five staff a month, a school with a seasonal rush or a recruitment desk with busy and quiet weeks.
So we built RefAssure around three ideas: let the software do the chasing, keep a record that stands up to scrutiny, and charge per reference, not per month.
