How the RefAssure credit system works

Credits are purchased in packs from the RefAssure dashboard. Available packs are: 10 credits for £9.99 (99p each), 25 credits for £23.75 (95p each), 50 credits for £45 (90p each), 100 credits for £85 (85p each), and 250 credits for £200 (80p each). When a reference is sent to a referee, one credit is consumed from the account balance. If a reference is started but not completed within the chasing period, no additional credits are used — the automated chasing included in the original credit continues until the maximum chasing sequence is complete or the referee responds. Credits are shared across all users on the account — any consultant can use credits from the shared balance without each needing their own allocation.

Credits that never expire — what this means in practice

RefAssure credits have no expiry date. A pack of 50 credits purchased in March is still available in October without any reduction or penalty. This means agencies can buy in bulk at a lower per-reference rate — taking advantage of the 85p rate on 100 credits, for example — without any pressure to use credits within a billing period. For agencies with seasonal volume patterns, this allows bulk purchase before a peak period with the remainder carrying forward to quieter months at no cost.

The shared credit pool across all account users means that team growth does not create per-credit pricing complexity. When a new consultant joins the agency and is added to the RefAssure account, they immediately have access to the shared credit balance. Credits are not allocated per user — they are available to whoever needs them. The account manager can see all credit usage across the team in the dashboard, with a record of which user sent each reference and the current remaining balance.
